how you SHOULD do sports marketing

Direct, to the point, and frankly hilarious...another score from the Boston Bruins marketing department, following up a full season of brilliant commercials like this (follow the links on the right for others):

Toronto sports teams could afford to learn a thing or to from the Bruins...the Raptors will soon be without their star, the Jays are struggling to crack 15,000 fans a game, and Leafs fans are watching said Bruins take their best draft picks of past and future to an improbable Stanley Cup run as we speak...

While the B's use their humour to capture the spirit of the fanatical Boston sports fan, none of Toronto's teams have managed to capture that same enthusiasm, usually fizzling out with cheesy jokes, or going the opposite route with cheap Nike/Gatorade "winning is everything" ripoff spots. Toronto fans are diehard, passionate, and know how to laugh at themselves and their teams...hell, we've been doing it with the Leafs for the last 40+ years, especially with this year's pitiful "Spirit Is Everything" ad fiasco.
