I now pronounce you nerd and mega-nerd!

While most may laugh at this article from Greg Wyshynski, about a Leafs fan and a Canadiens fan bonding in holy matrimony (god, when does this season start already?!?), I was personally touched by the piece, because I too come from a divided household. My father, growing up with his Beliveaus and Drydens, and my mother, growing up with her Keons and Kennedys, leading to many tense nights for myself and my siblings.

But I do believe these two obviously took it too far, getting married in Leafs and Habs jerseys, respectively, with their names emblazoned on the back. But two random observations (besides the hundreds of others I'm sure I could come up with) that come up from these newlyweds:

1. If one's so die-hard Toronto, and the other so die-hard Montreal...why marry in Rod Langway country?

2. It's one thing for him to take her last name...but to actually give her the "C," while he gets the assistant captain's mark? OUCH. Pants have been permanently stripped from him for all time...now he just gets the whip.
